The elegant Villa Wibisana is heralded by a pair of magnificent red and gold, 19th century, ironwood carved doors from Nusa Penida Island. A stupa, copied from a Javanese temple, rests above the entrance. Designed by Joost van Grieken, the three-bedroom villa is made up of four thatched buildings, linked by covered walkways and set around a central courtyard garden dominated by a stunning oval swimming pool. The furnishings are complemented by time-honored Asian artefacts and the master bathroom features a sumptuous sunken circular bath. The attention to detail in this villa is faultless, right down to the cupboard doors, which are characterized by glass-fronted silk panels garnished with the recurring sign of the lontar palm.
